CAOS on the Danube

Although we have been unable to meet for more than a year, we have been busy. During lockdown, we have made a virtual recording of the Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss. Each member recorded their part at home using whatever equipment they had available - mobile phone, tablet, personal computer, etc. Ruth and Penelope then did an amazing job in merging all of our video and sound tracks to produce a final video. Back from lockdown in new rehearsal venue

After many frustrating months of being unable to meet due to Covid restrictions, we are at long last able to rehearse again as an orchestra. Unfortunately, due to continuing Covid precautions in schools, we have been unable to return to our rehearsal venue in Firhill High School. After much searching, we have found a replacement - the Sanctuary in St Catherine’s Argyle Church in Grange Road. It has many advantages - it is large, spacious and attractive, there is ample parking in close proximity and there will be no other groups in the building. We hope that this new venue will herald a bright future for the orchestra after such a prolonged period of inactivity.
